The 90-Day Glow-Up: A Countdown to Your Best Skin Ever

The 90-Day Glow-Up: A Countdown to Your Best Skin Ever

Here in Northeast Florida, we’re basically always one invitation away from a big event. A summer beach wedding in Ponte Vedra. A black-tie gala downtown. Your daughter’s quinceañera. A milestone birthday dinner on the water.

Somewhere between the RSVP and the actual event, most women forget the one thing that shows up in every single photo: their skin.

We’ve worked with enough brides, milestone birthday women, and reunion-goers to know two things for certain: the women who plan their skin ahead of time walk in glowing. The ones who don’t, spend the week before calling Coastal Dermatology in a panic.

Start Here: The Mindset Shift

Skincare treatments aren’t like getting your nails done. You can’t walk in the Friday before and walk out transformed. The treatments that actually change your skin — the ones that tighten, brighten, smooth, and restore — work with your biology. Collagen rebuilds on its own schedule. Pigment takes time to surface and shed. Filler settles. Botox® kicks in.

What that means for you is that the earlier you start, the better the outcome.

The 90-Day Countdown

This is your window for the treatments that deliver the biggest results and need the most time to do it.

RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling is one of the most effective skin-tightening treatments available right now, and it works by triggering your skin’s own collagen production deep beneath the surface. The results build over four to six weeks as new collagen forms, which is exactly why starting now matters.

Most patients do a series of two to three sessions. By the time your event arrives, you’re at peak results, not peak recovery.

Best For: Fine lines, skin laxity, enlarged pores, rough texture, acne scarring.

Botox & Dysport

Crow’s feet. The forehead lines that photograph harder than they look in real life. The “11s” between your brows that make you look more tired than you are. Injectable neurotoxins relax the muscles behind those expressions.

Results appear within 10-14 days and last three to four months, making a 90-day start time ideal for dialing in your dosage with room to adjust.

Best For: Dynamic wrinkles, forehead lines, crow’s feet, brow positioning.

Dermal Fillers

Volume loss is one of those things that happens so gradually you don’t notice it until a photo catches you off guard. Dermal fillers restore structure and softness to areas like the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and under-eye hollows.

Results are visible immediately, but minor swelling needs one to two weeks to fully resolve. Three months out gives you the results without the pressure.

Best For: Cheek volume, lip fullness, under-eye hollows, smile lines.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photo Facials

We love this city. The beaches, the outdoor brunches, the boating. But years of Florida sun leave behind sunspots, redness, and uneven pigmentation that no amount of concealer fully corrects IPL. Intense pulsed light targets that pigment directly, breaking it up so your skin can shed it naturally over the following weeks.

Plan for one to two sessions with recovery time, and pair every single day with SPF 30 or higher.

Best For: Sun damage, age spots, redness, uneven skin tone.

The patients who see the most dramatic results are the ones who come in 90-days beforehand, tell us exactly what event is coming up, and let us build a plan around their specific skin.

T-Minus 60-Days: The Maintenance Phase

Your skin is in a good rhythm. Don’t disrupt it.

This is a natural window for a follow-up microneedling session or a light chemical peel to keep building on the progress you’ve made. It’s also when your at-home routine quietly becomes one of the most important factors in your results.

What Your Medicine Cabinet Should Include Right Now

  • SPF 30+ Every Morning: Sun exposure undoes professional treatments faster than almost anything else
  • Vitamin C Serum: Antioxidant protection plus a brightness boost that compounds over time
  • A Hydrating Moisturizer: Barrier health is everything, especially in Florida humidity

If you haven’t had a consultation yet, 60 days is still workable, but don’t wait much longer. Some treatments need more lead time than others, and we want to make sure we can still do right by you.

Keep in Mind: This is the phase where patients start introducing new products they found online and accidentally irritate their skin right before an event. If you want to add something new to your routine, ask us first. Retinols, acids, and active serums can be incredible tools or terrible timing depending on where you’re at in your treatment plan.

T-Minus 14 Days: The Polish

Two weeks out, the strategy shifts entirely. We’re not trying to change anything; we’re trying to refine everything. The treatments in this window carry zero downtime and leave your skin looking like the best version of itself.

Hydrafacials

If you do nothing else on this list, do this. A hydrafacial deeply cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and infuses your skin with targeted serums in a single session; no redness, no peeling, and no recovery time.

The result is immediate luminosity that photographs beautifully. Schedule it seven to ten days before your event. You’ll notice the difference in the mirror and so will everyone else.

Dermaplaning

A fine surgical blade removes the top layer of dead skin cells and peach fuzz in one gentle pass. What’s left is a surface so smooth that foundation blends differently, highlighter sits better, and your skin catches light the way it did ten years ago. Paired with a hydrafacial, it’s one of our most popular pre-event combinations.

What to Leave Completely Alone at This Phase

  • New skincare products of any kind
  • At-home exfoliation (your skin doesn’t need more right now)
  • Facial waxing (the inflammation risk isn’t worth it)
  • Retinol or strong actives unless they’re already part of your established routine

Two weeks out is when the anxiety about how you look tends to peak. We get it. But the worst thing you can do to your skin right now is react to that anxiety with a new product, an aggressive treatment, or a last-minute decision. What you’ve already done is working. Let it.

T-Minus 7 Days: Step Away From the Skincare Aisle

Your routine this week should be almost boring. Gentle cleanser. Moisturizer. SPF. That’s your entire job. Drink water. Sleep. Don’t add anything new to your skin, your diet, or your stress load if you can help it.

If a blemish appears, resist every instinct to pick at it, pop it, or pile on spot treatments you’ve never used before. Hands off. Picking introduces bacteria, causes inflammation, and can leave a mark that’s harder to cover than the original blemish ever was.

A cold compress can reduce swelling, a small amount of your regular spot treatment applied gently overnight is fine, and a clean concealer on the day will do the rest. The more you leave it alone, the better it looks by morning.

One More Thing Before You Book an Appointment

The women who walk into their events glowing aren’t the ones who found some secret treatment nobody else knows about. They’re the ones who planned ahead, stayed consistent, and gave their skin the time it needed to actually respond.

That’s it. That’s the whole formula.

If you have an event on the calendar, now is a better time to come in than two weeks before it. We’ll look at where your skin is, talk through what you want to feel like on that day, and put together a plan that’s actually realistic for your timeline.
