How Does VASER Liposuction Work?

VASER liposuction is an advanced outpatient procedure that uses ultrasound technology to break down fat cells beneath the skin, making them easier to remove. This technique uses targeted sound waves to gently liquefy fat while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue. The liquefied fat is then removed using thin, specialized tubes called cannulae.

With minimal downtime and a focus on preserving healthy cells, VASER liposuction offers a highly effective solution for those looking to achieve their body contouring goals. If you’re ready to take the next step, schedule your consultation today to learn more about how this advanced method can help you realize your aspirations.

What Happens During My VASER Liposuction Session?

Dr. Goyal performs VASER liposuction right here in the office while you’re comfortably under local anesthesia. Then he gets to work by injecting a special saline solution (mixed with numbing medication) into the area being treated—think tummy, thighs, or wherever stubborn fat likes to linger.

Next, tiny incisions are made so he can slip in ultrasound probes. These probes send out high-frequency sound waves that gently warm and loosen up the fat cells. Once everything’s broken down, a small tube called a cannula helps remove the melted fat. After that, the area is bandaged and patients are released to their responsible driver.

Depending on the area, the whole process usually wraps up in about one to two hours. You’ll head home the same day—just a little lighter.

Jacksonville’s Top Questions About Vaser Liposuction

VASER lipo is like a high-tech shortcut for those spots that refuse to budge, no matter how many salads you eat or steps you take. It’s an outpatient procedure that uses ultrasound energy to gently shake up and melt down stubborn fat under the skin, making it easier to remove.

Dr. Goyal carefully targets the fat while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed, which means less bruising and a smoother recovery. This treatment works well on areas like the arms, belly, and beyond. It’s a smart, noninvasive way to contour your shape and get a little closer to the version of you that lives in your head.

After your session, expect a little bruising and swelling—that’s just your body processing the changes. A small amount of fluid or blood might leak out for a day or two, which is totally normal. Dr. Goyal will give you all the need-to-know instructions, so just follow his lead, keep things clean, and take any meds he prescribes.

You’ll also be sporting a compression garment for a few weeks. It’s not the most glamorous fashion choice, but it helps with swelling and shapes things up nicely.

Full healing can take a few months, so give your body the time it needs. Stick to your follow-ups with Dr. Goyal, and before you know it, you’ll be enjoying the results.

VASER liposuction is generally safe and most people handle it well, but no procedure is completely risk-free. Some things that can pop up include:

  • Swelling that sticks around for 2–4 weeks
  • Bruising or some bleeding
  • Skin that feels a little loose while things settle
  • Changes in skin color, like temporary darkening
  • A chance of hyperpigmentation in treated areas

After your session, keeping the area clean is key. Watch for any signs that don’t seem right—like redness, warmth, or unusual drainage—and don’t hesitate to check in with the team if anything feels off.
